On May 22, 1988, the City of St. Charles, Illinois dedicated a 15 foot tall bronze sculpture of a Potawatomi Indian to honor the area's Native American heritage.

In May, 2008, Ekwabet will be 20 years old. St. Charles is going to celebrate the anniversary of the sculpture's dedication and, again, honor the area's Native American heritage.
